The Honorable Joseph I. Lieberman
Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee in 2000, served 24 years in the United States Senate, retiring in January 2013 following the end of his fourth term. Prior to being elected to the Senate, Senator Lieberman served as the Attorney General of the State of Connecticut for six years, and 10 years in the Connecticut State Senate, including three terms as majority leader.He currently serves as Special Counsel at Kasowitz Benson Torres.
Senator Lieberman is the recipient of numerous awards and recognition, including the 2015, Winston Churchill National Leadership Award, which recognizes an individual whose career has “exhibited the virtues of resolution, magnanimity and goodwill in the service of constitutional democracy, exemplified by the life and career of Winston Churchill.”
Senator Lieberman serves as National Co-Chair of No Labels, an American political organization, composed of Republicans, Democrats and Independents, whose mission is to “usher in a new era of focused problem solving in American politics.” In addition to No Labels, Senator Lieberman also serves on the Board of Trustees for The McCain Institute for International Leadership, the Institute for the Study of War, and the Center for a New American Security.
One of the best ways to make the case for Israel among young people today is to find a way for them to understand the history. It’s not so long ago that there was no state for over 2,000 years and that we paid the ultimate price in the Shoah. And they have to be reminded. This is where the movie comes in. You can hand them and force them to read books, but this is a very audiovisual generation. If this is done where we come up with a movie that tells the story of the founding and development of the State of Israel through Begin’s life, we will educate and inspire and make advocates for Israel that are not there now. It’s about the Jewish future and the security of the State of Israel.

Mayim Hoya Bialik is best known for her lead role as Blossom Russo in the 1990s NBC television sitcom Blossom and now appears regularly on the #1 comedy in America, CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, playing neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler, a role for which she has received one Screen Actors Guild nomination and four Emmy nominations.
Bialik earned a BS from UCLA in 2000 in Neuroscience and Hebrew and Jewish Studies, and completed the Ph.D. program in Neuroscience at UCLA in 2007. While at UCLA, Bialik was a dedicated student leader at UCLA Hillel, leading and starting a Women’s Rosh Chodesh group, chanting and blowing shofar for the High Holiday services, and conducting and writing music for UCLA’s Jewish a cappella group.
Bialik blogs for the Jewish parenting blog Kveller.com and is a founding member of the Shamayim V’Aretz Institute, a center for Jewish spirituality. Mayim is also the founder of GrokNation, an online community for people to converse on contemporary issues, and the author of Beyond the Sling and Mayim’s Vegan Table.
